All this diversity of spaces allows each visitor, away from the crowds and conventional tourist circuits, to choose the option that best suits their needs.

The Terres de l'Ebre are located between the Mediterranean Sea and the southernmost buttresses of the Catalan pre-coastal mountain range. In addition, the calm waters of the Ebro the largest river in the Iberian Peninsula they model this territory and form meanders that calmly lead it through the Delta plain until it reaches the sea.

All this natural and cultural legacy enriches the visit to the Terres de l'Ebre and allows the tourist to discover the details that are hidden in the mosaic drawn by the four southernmost regions of Catalonia.

The Montsant is a symbol for the Priorat and the Tarragona regions. It is not the highest mountain nor the most extensive, even so, the strength of its orography is unquestionable. It is a compact massif, with most of its perimeter walled by cliffs and rocks of Oligocene conglomerates.

All the towns are outside, at their feet. The interior is the kingdom of the mountain. To penetrate it you have to choose a 'grau', that is, one of the natural steps that allow you to overcome the cliffs. Some are relatively comfortable, traveled by bridle paths, others only allow the passage of people, an exaggerated narrowness, aerial and often overwhelming.

The spiritual relationship that men have maintained with the Montsant for centuries has given it a very special condition. The foundation of the first monastery of the Iberian Peninsula "Scala Dei" and the intense eremitical tradition, which has lasted to the present, is a good proof of the profound symbolic value of the mountain. In 2002 it was declared a Natural Park by the Generalitat of Catalonia.
